All You Need To Know About Stanford University

By Philip James

Stanford is recognized to be one of the most renowned universities in the United States as well as the world. I could very well supply you the Wikipedia version right here, but I reckoned it would turn out to be more suitable to help show you the point of view of a student rather than from a historical point of view.

The campus is stunning and the best on the west coast. The architecture is a bit more modern and country club more "elite" than that of an Ivy League campus, but I love the mission style architecture. The buildings are legendary, and Palm Drive is really a sight to itself.

After the University of Moscow, Stanford is the 2nd biggest campus in the world. There are a bunch of leisure activities that can be done there. There you find a post office, a gas station, gold course, a multitude of restaurants and eateries, and a huge university shop. Even those in need of their wheatgrass fix can head straight to the nearest Jamba Juice shop.

Get a bike to get around campus. I love how flat the campus is so you can ride a bike. If that is not an option, walking is beautiful but it's going to take you a bit longer. Watch out for bikes! I enjoyed walking around campus with a book in my hand. It was very relaxing, and I never got hit by a bike.

On a scale of one to ten, Standford University ranks 12 in the academic field. I have been taught by experienced and knowledgeable teachers and mentors. I can honestly say that I cherish my experience in learning new things there. Within the halls of the university, it is truly spectacular. There are a lot of new things and opportunities being made that is intended to transform our world for the better, as well as innovative and progressive research to not only save, but improve the lives of everyone. For every educator, the university makes sure there are only six students in his/her class. Standford also provides the students a good chance to take their studies overseas as well as world-renowned professors for the students.

Stanford receives over 34,000 applicants per year for about 1500 freshman admits. 92% of the applicants were in the top 10% of their High Schools graduating classes. The only other way in is if mom or dad buys Stanford a new building. Many students are science or engineering majors. However, 3500 students are undeclared majors. No need to rush declaring a major. Campus is highly manicured, traditional and space age architecture. 98% of students live on campus. Stanford has a campus wide free bus system. Many students get around by bicycle.

Stanford students tend to be focused, creative and positive. It attracts the best of the best. The cost of tuition is $56,000 per year including tuition, room and board. No extra cost for international study or other special programs. Tuition assistance work programs are available to help reduce the finances. Nearly all students get financial aid, scholarships and loans.

For four educational years I spent in Standford, I have grown to harbor a fondness for this school. It forms and conditions you for a life that becomes better and fuller as each year passes by. As a supporter of Social Distortion and a graduate of Standford, it is safe to say that I have experienced a lucky life.
