Determining The Best Places To Put Vending Machines

By Frances Bailey

The use of vending machines to sell items to the public is a good and profitable venture. You can sell snacks, drinks and other small items that the visitors of a certain location may be in need of. The venture requires little running costs except occasional maintenance and refilling. The machines must be in good view of the public to invoke buying buy impulse. They must be in areas where there is a lots of foot traffic. Here are some suggestions on best places to put vending machines.

Start by looking at the auto repair shops. Here customers wait for some time while the vehicles are being serviced. This is a good time to have a drink, have a snack or make a call. You can be selling all of them at the reception together with additions such as snack shops nearby.

Vending machines can also be placed near office blocks. If the complex belongs to a single firm, you may request the firm to allow you put the machine on the premises. Ensure that the office has at least fifty people if you are selling snacks. Sodas and other packed soft drinks may stay longer. Snack cannot go past a few days.

Vending machines can fit in a variety of retail stores as an added service. As customers move in and out of a clothing store, a grocery, and a store selling household items, they can have a drink or a snack and a beverage. A convenience store may be a good location for vending machines that sells items that are not available there such as airtime or DVD rentals.

Your next stop should be motels and the guesthouses. The places are frequented by travelers who in most cases are looking for food but do not want to move out and get to some restaurant to have their dinner likewise they may have forgotten to carry with them some toiletries and would appreciate to buy some in the premises.

You may also think of the parks and skateboard selling shops as other viable locations. Children are a prime market for candies, salty snacks, and sodas. The park can also be a prime location for beverages, snacks, and water. Gift cards and toiletries are also good products to sell to visitors at the park.

Snacks and beverages are also required at stadiums and bowling alleys when there are leagues to be watched and other games. The vending unit can be carried to the stadium at the day of the sports and back to your business premises at the end of the day. The fans and the people attending the events at stadium are possible customers for your products. Ask for permission to have your products at the location before bringing them there. You should also have someone to look after the machines.

Take a critical look at locations where you would like to vend your items. Check for small items that may be needed but are not present. The items must influence people to buy impulsively. The equipment on the other hand, must be placed in areas where the customers feel secure and can easily access the vendors. Check on the status of the vending units from time to time.
