What Must Be Done In A Water Well Pump Repair

By Sally Delacruz

There would be times that you will be turning that faucet on but nothing would flow out of it. If your supply is from the well then you have to check it as it may be dry already. You have to test its parts so that you will be able to know if you have to do a water well pump repair for that.

Wisconsin is located in the north central United States area. It is in the Midwest and the Great Lakes area. It is among the most populated states in the US. When it comes to the length of its Great Lakes coastline, it is among that list too. You would not doubt if you would find water wells in that area.

There are guidelines that must be followed when fixing it. If you saw that the motor does not function, check that using an ohm meter. Measure its voltage so you will know if the power is still sufficient for it. It needs to receive the voltage that has been stated on its manual. Inspect all of its fuse including its circuit breaker when you are done with that.

You should open and close the pressure switch manually. Before you could do that, you must be sure that it has been disconnected from the power. You have to inspect its round contacts so you could see if there have been damages. Using a piece of cloth, polish the surfaces. If it is already worn out, you should replace that switch. Get its manual so one would know how you will be able to adjust the pressure that is needed for it.

You should also check if there are leaks in the pump. You might be needing to pull the suction pipe in there. The pipe and parts of its sections should be checked. If there are some cracks, it will just be bigger as time would pass by. It has to be sealed properly to avoid such things from happening.

You have to get its valves checked so you could see if it is operating well. When you have seen damages on it, that could cause some problems on the suction. You should replace that if it has damages so you would not be pulling that regularly.

You should remove the housing of the pump so you could have its impeller checked. Make sure that there is no power from the motor before you would disassemble it. You could use a wrench for this to be done. You will find a large gasket in it which could also cause air leaks. Replace the parts that have damage. You should also lubricate the gasket before you will return the housing so it would not break.

There are professionals which you can contact if you could not do it on your own. The work would usually depend on how deep the well is. There would be times that you would require more people so you could pull the pipe and the motor in it.

Prior to this, ensure that you have a manual on it. Download one on the Web if a copy was not provided to you. There are instructions in there that you should follow so you will prevent a void on its warranty.
