The Procedures Used For Reclaimed Refrigerant

By David Howard

The introduction of science and technology into the community has been one of most remarkable evolutionary moves in recent times. This changed human civilization on quite a number of levels both socially and economically as well. Machines and other fruits of modernity have become an inevitable part of human daily life. There is a machine for each and every aspect of human life. The process of getting reclaimed refrigerant is very crucial in food preservation.

Temperature control and regulation is one of things that people desire most for various reasons. Some of popular reasons for this include convenience purposes and preservation of substances that would perish otherwise. Air conditioners, freezers, coolers and fridges are some of gadgets that are utilized in process of regulating the temperature factor of chambers. All these machines require a coolant or refrigerant to accomplish the fit assigned to them properly.

A refrigerant is a gas that contained properly and installed in these temperature regulating devices. When contained properly, this gas is very uses to the people. If it leaks into the atmosphere however, it could cause so much damage to the ozone layer and hence bring about accelerated global warming tendencies. Following the Montreal protocol, reclamation of this gas is done in order to conserve this unique resource and recycle it elsewhere.

Measures have been put in place to ensure that the refrigerant used in these devices is reclaimed and recycled for use in other devices instead of being disposed off into nature. The pressure at which this gas is stored makes it a very delicate matter to handle. This duty is therefore reserved for only well trained professionals with the knowledge and skills required. The reclaimer will require hoses, manifolds and a strategically sized recovery machine for the procedure.

The containment for this versatile gas is usually equipped with several valves. These valve cores are used to control emission from the access points. The person should carefully remove these from the access points. This will allow the gas that is currently in liquid form to flow onto the hoses. This hose must be able to handle both liquid and gas form coolant.

It is advised to use a multipurpose hose for the containment part. The air conditioner can then be allowed to tap into the flow for continuity purposes. This creates a unique situation with two varying pressure points. A liquid at one end and gas in other, the manifold is designed to simulate an equilibrium between the two and inhibit and probable reactions.

The high pressure containment can create quite a large amount of heat in system. It is therefore very important that heat mitigation maneuvers are undertaken during the recovery procedure. In this bid, the cylinder and recovery machines owe to sheltered properly. Cooling fans can also provide a wonderful heat elimination mechanism.

As a precautionary measure, it is very important that one vacuums the cylinder before any work is started. There are professionals that have a tendency to use tank float sensors to control the filling process. This mechanism is not effective however as sometimes it allows for over filling. A well calibrated system has to be used for the filling process. Over filled cylinders can be highly explosive and dangerous.
