It function by applying material to the bottom of the grass.

A broadcast spreader is another variety of pull/push type of spreader. However, unlike the drop spreader, this device spreads the material around the lawn using its rotary mechanism. The material is spread to a radius of 3 to 4 feet. This device is ideal for people who have a large garden or lawn. This is because it can also be moved by attaching it to a tractor or some other mechanism.

There are a number of factors that one needs to know when using a spreader with the pull/push design. To begin with, the devices are accompanied by manuals when they are bought. These operation manual are provided by manufacturers and the buyer should read and understand their content well. The manual is very useful when it comes to calibrating the spreader to release the right amount of material to the ground. The distribution pattern and rate of the machine is also contained in the operation manual.

When loading the spreader, one should do it on the sidewalk or driveway. After loading, one can then move into the lawn and start spreading the material. Maintaining a steady pace is necessary in order to ensure that the application is uniform. The opening of the spreader should be closed when one is making a turn or stopping.
