It is very expensive to maintain these equipments. These equipments will require regular check-ups and services because poor maintenance reduces their life span thus become unworthy to a business if it undergoes continuous breakdown. You can take at least 15 minutes daily in maintenance check ups of this equipment which assists in identifying the problem easily. When undertaking your daily check ups, you should look at different pieces of your machinery that are being operated. Checking out the various pieces will help in identifying those which are worn out. You will also identify signs of oil leakage. Ensure that every day the tires have the right pressure. This will help in preventing tire bursts. Ensure that you thoroughly clean all the debris in the machinery. Check out the belts and chains so as to ensure that they are held in the right position.

Greasing should be done thoroughly on the parts that are joined together for lubricating purposes on daily bases. Protection signs and gears should be placed in well displayed place and where they can easily be acquired. Important fluids such as hydraulic, coolant or even oils should be checked daily. Just in case the levels are below the required one, you can top up before the start of any work. Putting into use a machinery with less fluid required is very dangerous as it reduces the durability of the machinery. One should also remember to clean the air filters in case there is any dirt.

Quarterly maintenance should be done when the machinery has run for 500 hours or has been used for about 3 months. This is a more through maintenance work which includes changing the engine oil as well as the oil and hydraulic filter. The diesel fuel filter should be replaced as part of quarterly maintenance procedure.

You should carry out the final maintenance procedure when the season is almost over. This means that at every end of the year, your machinery should be repaired. During this period, the hydraulic oil and transmission fluid is replaced. You should ensure that the radiators antifreeze is in good working condition which will make it ready for the winter season. Careful examination should be carried out on belts and hoses in order to identify any problem.

The past used oil should be taken off and the tank then filled with blended or arctic fuel. This is very important as it will help to reduce the fuel lining from gelling in winter seasons. The engine should be well cleaned as well as the undercarriage. One should be very keen when cleaning the whole machine.

The air conditioning unit should be checked and cleaned. All the lights should be inspected if they are in good working condition and any faulty one replaced. The tires should also be inspected for any sign of wear and tear. Any tire which is worn out should be replaced during this period of heavy equipment service routine so you can avoid losing valuable work time.
