Marbles and metals are one of the most expensive and luxurious material for some of the designs which we usually see in hotels, malls and other infrastructures. Sometimes, people in the elite class also have these things placed in their houses. But, most people have the same problems regarding it. They wonder how they could make it look new everyday. Marble and metal maintenance New York City specializes on that.

There are a lot who could offer to give you the service. But, it is always best to be able to do it on your own. There will be steps available for you to easily follow.

There are marbles that are natural and some are cultured. This is something which you really need to know. There are different ways in cleaning them, so you really have to familiarize that one that you have. If you just do the maintenance the way you think is right, there might be something worse that would happen to it which will cost you a lot to fix.

Usually, the cause of stain is when something spilled out directly on it and was not cleaned immediately. The substance will then be sipped right into the stone and will be trapped. If you noticed that there are stains remaining after wiping everything, get a sponge or any cloth. With a lukewarm water and mild soap, rub it into the area affected then rinse properly.

After rinsing it, you can already do the polishing. A natural type sometimes scratches easily. So, that means that you really have to be extra gentle. You may get a dry and clean mop to do it. The next thing that you have to do is to completely dry the marble with a clean cloth.

Mix water and baking soda to polish it properly. You will see a better result with the mixture. Make sure that the mixture also has the right measurement. You will only need three tablespoons of the baking soda and 1 quarter of water. Too much or too low of something might give you the wrong result. Also apply only a small layer of it. Rinse it off and let it dry for at least 5 hours.

On the other hand, a cultured marble is so much easier to clean and polish. It does not scratch easily at all since it has a coating which protects its surface. Although it does not get damaged that easy, it still needs the same amount of care as the natural one.

In removing the stains, you may use a brush which has nylon bristles. You also need a non abrasive household cleaner. Remove the stains by gently scrubbing its surface. You may use hard water vinegar in case there are stains that are hard to take off.

Cleaning marbles is not so hard after all. Although there are two different types, the way of cleaning them is just almost the same. Just make sure that you are going to inspect every inch of it every now and then.
