Why The Belize Connection Should Be In Your Travel Itinerary

By Margaret Thompson

No vacation is ever complete without swimming and other nature and cultural related activities. Places like the tropics and central America is perfect for these kinds of activities for many reasons. These countries are full of architectural and natural wonders that you cannot find anywhere else.

Tourism is a big industry that flourishes in places like Belize. One agency that makes sure to help is the Belize connection with their constant updates on events and perfect places to visit. As tourists, contacting them would help make the trip go smoother and therefore more fun.

Salt water is the perfect cure for everything and the best way to do this is by diving and marveling at the world under water. Belize has so many beautiful and well preserved sites, it is unbelievably wonderful. The remnants of pre Columbian relics and architecture also bring a magical touch to every visit.

A total of 15 archaeological sites that can be found here. With these certain departments in the country are organized to protect these historical assets. While most of the sites are public property Some remain to be privately owned. Visiting these sites would require permission from the land owner.

Diving spots are also abundant in the small country. The spots are not only well maintained but are protected by laws to make sure wild life is properly protected. Sites like the Barrier Reef, is the longest, stretching north to south at about 190 miles. The divers take the visitors diving through the corals and underwater canyons.

For divers one place that definitely becomes a highlight to a trip to Belize is the 450 feet dive in the blue hole. Th place is basically a huge and deep hole in the middle of the sea. This can be clearly seen in an aerial view where the surrounding area is not as deep or blue as the hole. You can guarantee that at around 200 feet down below you will be swimming with bull sharks.

There are a lot of things to learn from an educational tour around the historical and archaeological trip in Belize. One very visited site is the Lamanai which consists of three different temples. These are the High temple where you can see the whole site, the Jaguar temple, and the Mask temple.

The Belize zoo is great for everyone even the disabled. This gets you up close to the different animals that live in such tropical conditions. Most of the mammals are owned by contributors and are being conditioned to go back into the wild. The most famous animal that tourists love to visit is the jaguar. The 543 species of colorful birds are also quite the view with the many selection of reptiles.

A country as diverse and well kept as Belize will flourish as a lucrative tourist destination. This is why the government banks hard on this industry to help many of its locals find a remedy to the bad case of poverty they have there. Tourism will be the road for businesses in real estate and merchandising to open and give the people something other than tourism to work with. This is why there is a great need to protect the natural structures and resources in places as naturally rich as Central America.
