Get Help From A Career Counselor San Francisco Bay Area

By Nelson Cozad

Do you need a San Francisco Bay Area career counselor?

A common train of thought among some professionals is that finding a career coach is a waste of time, money and resources. This is only true if you find the wrong one. Look for one who customizes to your needs to avoid wasting your money.

However, some people really do benefit from this kind of assistance. Some signs you might need some coaching include sending out your resume a lot and getting few or no call backs, being frustrated or anxious in your job, feeling bored or unfulfilled, being consistently passed over for advancement, job hopping, or being afraid of interviews. These professionals can also be helpful to new graduates who are not entirely sure of the best direction to go in.

A good career coach, first off, will be somebody who you know is on your side. If you feel your work environment may be hostile or toxic, that alone can be enough to help you handle the stress. They can also help you establish if you are in a toxic environment - and if it is time to get out.

The first and foremost goal of anybody who is coaching you is to get you out of your rut and into the career you have always wanted. There are many ways they can do this, including helping you to improve your resume. They may also practice interviews with you so that you sound good when you are in a real interview, and you are less likely to get nervous this way as well.

Another thing they may help with is to identify your strengths and weaknesses. You may be able to improve upon the weaknesses, and let your strengths show a bit more so you can impress a potential boss and get your dream job.
